SPACE PHYSICS

PHYSICAL AND GEODETIC STUDIES OF PLANETS AND EARTH

The review of research activities of the Space Research Centre in 1998 has been divided into two parts, not conforming with the organisation structure of the institute.

The first one concerns space phy-sics and covers studies of the ionosphere and magnetosphere of the Earth, of the Sun, and of the helio-sphere and interplanetary space.

The second one deals with the investigation of planets and their satel-lites, of small bodies of the Solar System, and of the Earth treated on one hand as a planet, and on the other hand as an object of geodetic research and remote sensing studies.
Because Space Research Centre's activities are focused on experimental research with the use of space technology, the best way of presenting results seems to be to introduce the projects the Centre is involved in.
