61st International Astronautical Congress Print

Between 27 September and 1 October 2010, the 61st  International Astronautical Congress was held in Prague, organized by the International Astronautical Federation in cooperation with the International Academy of Astronautics and the International Institute of Space Law. The event was accompanied by an exhibition on space technologies, with particular emphasis on satellite technology. The Congress theme were benefits to humanity related to space exploitation. The exhibition icluded a stand of  the Polish Space Technology Platform, whose coordinator is the Space Research Centre. According to statistics presented by John Kolar of the Czech Space Agency, a total of 3,131 people attended the Congress. During the exhibition, 300 exhibitors were presented at 50 stands. The Congress, as the largest event of this kind in the world, is widely regarded by participants as very prestigious and important event. Most exhibitors put emphasis on presenting their work in the field of satellite technology (with particular emphasis on nano-satellites).
